First night back to regular section meetings after the summer! A fantastic evening of wide games and a go on the new challenge course at Wadeccar outdoor activity centre!
It was great to see familiar faces and some new ones for this evenings activity. As we hadn’t met for a while we started with a round of introductions, a round robin of what our name is, and our most favourite thing in the world!
As you can imagine, lots of Pizza (even the leaders!), it was nice to hear some said friends, some said they didn’t know (I wish to be that super cool) and most bizarrely for some school was their most favourite thing! We can’t talk forever though, lots to get on with!!
Wide games are always a blur! and this one is no exception. What your seeing on the right is a glimpse of capture the flag! aim of the game is hide the flag from the other team, and then find their flag.
I can certainly say some interesting hiding places, and I think we may have even lost one of the flags (neckers) oops!
It went darker a lot quicker than expected, but that only adds to the adventure as you can see, fortunately we had torches.
The challenge course was a mix of ropes, obstacles and a pipe to crawl through, they decided to have a competition to see how quick they could all get through the course!
Our young leader also had a go!… and got stuck in the tube. One of the scouts also got stuck in the tube and had to be rescued by a beaver…
It was clearly a great evening finished off with the snacks and drinks they brought along with them.
On the way back you’d of thought the mini-bus would be quiet as the activities should have tired them out… oh nooo, you’d be wrong, most of the way home was a musical, I am surprised it didn’t drive the leaders mad!!
